I'm a former pupil of Stephenson Way Junior School, circa 1959-1962 and can't even begin to tell you how delighted I was to stumble upon this website.

I tend to avoid wearing short trousers these days, unless the weather's particularly nice. However, I do have an abiding memory of the distinctive school uniform blazer of purple with Sky-blue trim, which, whilst entirely appropriate for the 1960's, will hopefully have been replaced by something a little less conspicuous now.

As you can probably imagine, much has happened in the 48-odd years since I was a pupil. Highlights include a spell in the British Army, 12 years as a semi-pro percussionist, and more years than I care to remember employed in various IT roles.

Career aside, the achievement I'm especially proud of is my website, which was founded in 1999 and represents a focal point for everyone in the world who shares my surname or one of its variants.

If, in return for my education, I could impart just a single piece of knowledge, it would be, "Each moment of every day represents an opportunity of some kind".

Hi everybody it's Jamie here, Hope you all fine. i am now enjoying myself at this school. Can't wait 'till next year, going skiing with the school, looks great. Stephenson-way looks so different when i go to help at the clubs. Well done to the history club for raising all that money for the Normandy Vetrance Assosation. We couldn't of done better on the night of Thursday 5th March 2009. Hope you all do well. Good Luck to the Year 6 Pupals that are doing SATS.Hope the people that go to Germany enjoy it, i did. It's well worth the money. Lot's of activity's you do and the site is nice.

Went to Stephenson way from 1968-1972 best days of my school life. made some great friends and the teachers were all fantastic.
Some I remember, Mr Terry, Mr Tweddle, Mr Simpson (Head) Mrs Atkinson.
I remember Mrs Atkinson fondly, my first day in year 5 I was going into hospital but before doing so I was taken to see my new teacher Mrs Atkinson, she was very kind but it was also her first day as a teacher at Stephenson way, that was in 1970? I understand she has just retired, she was an influance on me and a great assett to the school. I'd love to get in touch with her.

As an old Stephenson Way Primary student (1973?) it has been interesting to revisit some of the photographs of the school and pleasing to see that not an enormous amount has changed over the past 35 years or so. I remember most fondly the times I spent at Stephenson Way and often reflect upon the pedagogy which founded a life-long love of learning fostered firmly from the foundations of my years at Stephenson Way. Although my recall of individual teachers names elude me I have a strong memory of the teachers; their enthusiasm and commitment to the foundations of my education. It must have been an excellent basis as I have a BSc(Info Sys)(Curtin), B.Juris(UWA), MBA(Curtin) and am now part way through my PhD at Curtin University using Tacit Knowledge as a thesis basis.

None of these academic accomplishments could have been achieved without the encouragement of the teachers at Stephenson Way Primary. For this, I thank you most sincerely.

When I'm next in the UK, I would like to make a special effort to revisit my old school.

I love stephenson way it is the best school i have ever been to it has lots of fun and good work to. All the teachers are the best especially Miss Griffin and i have loads of mates and best buds like jessica and bethany m and zara. xxx

Sorry that you hate the rule Lewis but these arrangements are necessary for a short time whilst the junior kitchen is modernised. When it re-opens we will be able to get back to normal. Hopefully that will be well before Easter.

There is need changing the uniform or name. The rocket logo is part of this areas history. The school should be proud to be called stephenson way after the great man himself.

Just to say it the Temporary Governing Body who will meet on Monday to make the final decision about naming the school, the colour of the uniform and the school logo. We have had a good response from our parents and children with 186 replies to our survey. We will be taking these to the meeting and discussing all the issues before a final decision is taken.

I think that the techers do a lot of hard work at this school. The class rooms are all very nice. The teachers do some very intresting lesons.

Hi guys, I think that Mrs Atkinson is a great Special Needs Teacher, and she has been a great teacher to me and to other's. Thankyou to Mr Dobson for being a great Head Teacher, and Jill and Christine and Sarah, for giving me some lovely meals in the last 4 years I have been here, Thankyou to Mr Harbron, and his staff for keeping the school, lovely and clean, it has been lovely coming into school each morning. Also to Mrs Defty I hope you are feeling better soon.

Stephenson way is class because you learn a lot and you get to play with toys in
the playground when it is dry.

hiya! think the website is cool and luv reading all the comments!!!! Abby cant stop talking about howtown and she has just got her pics back and is showing me them over and over again. i ve had the worst day of my life when teachers went on strike !!! wish we werent off. "hope" to see u 2morow!!!!

Please note that teachers were not on strike today. It was a number of manual workers from UNISON who went on strike for one day as their pension rights have been withdrawn. Teachers were all working hard at home!!

We will all be back at work tomorrow!

There are some class photos on Friends Reunited but I am unsure of the exact years - I think they were from the 60's. I will ask around to see what is available at school. That would make a good page here if anyone has class photos from the past we could scan them in - not sure about the data protection etc as it would be impossible to get the permission of everyone!

At the recent schools' gymnastics competition on Saturday 23rd November 2002, I was proud to see Jordan perform well enough to win a gold medal and also joint silver medal in the floor and vault. We received a letter showing everybody's achievements and plenty of deserved praise for the all of the gymnasts. There were gold and bronze awarded to other gymnasts and the teams came third and silver in their respective groupings. There was no mention of Miss Kirkham's contribution (she must have written the letter). I feel she should be given special praise as well. The results are a testimony to her coaching skills and she has been part of the team achieving these results. Well done Miss Kirkham! You have done an ace job. I am sure that Stephenson Way's trophy cabinet will continue to fill up as a result of your efforts and those of the gymnasts under your tutelage.

I really enjoy reading the information on our website. I think it shows all the fun things we do at school to encourage learning in and out of lessons.
I think I should take some photographs of my recorder group to include on the website, to show some of our regular music activities!
