Our visit to Germany 2008

On June 30th 2008 19 Y6 pupils and three staff set off very early in the morning to visit Germany. After a 14 hour journey through England, France, Belgium, Holland and finally Germany they arrived at their destinatio.

The second day was spent at a local town shopping and enjoying the heat!

The next day saw everyone at Zanten a Roman town which is under re-construction.

At the Roman Amphitheatre a team photo was taken.

Next day we set off for Koln. After a brief visit to the cathedral we ttook a walk along the Rhine to the Chocolate Factory and museum.

Again it was very hot indeed, not something we were used to in the summer of 2008!

On the steps outside Koln Cathedral another team photo. Cologne was very busy indeed.

On Thursday when the visit to the Roman Park had to be cut short due to the wet weather we ended up at a shopping centre near Essien. After a little shopping it was time to visit MacDonalds.

Our last day was spent at the theme park, which used to be owned by Warner Bros. The park was very exciting for the chi;dren with good roller coasters, shows and dressed up characters like Shrek, The Pink Panther and various teddy bears.

Sadly a thunderstorm cleared the park mid afternoon which took valuable roller coaster time away.

After a short break it was back to the rides.

An excellent end to an excellent week

Then very early on Saturday, 4.30 am UK time! it was back to the coach for another long journey home.
