History Club's Trip to London.

Once again our school history club won the Spirit of Normandy Prize in 2007. We visited London to colllect the prize in November - only a small number of the History Club were fortunate enough to attend the ceremony at the Imperial War Museum in London.

We set off early in the morning and travelled down to Kings Cross by train. This was an exciting start to the day for the children.

The work of the history club was described as outstanding by the panel of judges. We were awarded £200 in cheques. This money will be used to fund future projects!

Then it was time for a special treat. A flight on the London Eye. As it was late afternoon the views were spectacular, particularly as the sun set over the Houses of Parliament!

The last part of the day was spent at St Pancras Station where the new Eurostar trains head off to Paris and Brussels. As this station had just opened the night before this was an exclusive educational visit. The children saw the new statues dedicated to Sir John Betjeman.

Then it was back on to the train after a very exciting day indeed.
